The Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standards (QABS) create a series of performance guidelines that builders and their customers can use to communicate and understand each other's expectations for building and remodeling projects. The program is available to all builder and remodeler members of the Indiana Builders Association, and members can order QABS manuals in hard copy or digital format. Local HBAs may order manuals in hard copy format. New homebuyers and remodeling homeowners should contact their builder or remodeler for a copy of the Standards. A single copy will be watermarked with your company name and the expiration date and can be redistributed as many times as needed within the year. Products specifications
Standards Commitment Every participating builder, remodeler, and interim builder member shall agree to the following conditions through their purchase:
1) The Indiana Quality Assurance Builders Standards manual must be provided to every customer at the time of contract signing for each new construction and/or remodeling project undertaken by the member.
2) All contracts must include language incorporating the Standards as a part of each new construction and/or remodeling project undertaken by the member.
3) A third party dispute resolution mechanism, selected by the builder to handle disputes arising from the Standards shall be a part of all contracts for construction and/or remodeling projects undertaken by the member.
4) The member understands that non-compliance with these commitments, unresolved dispute resolutions, or a large number of complaints against the member may result in sanctions imposed on the member by the Builders Association. Those potential sanctions may include, but are not limited to eliminating membership privileges and/or expulsion from the Association.
