Join the Indiana Builders Association on Wednesday, May 17 for our Summer Board & Committee Meetings at the historic and unique Crowne Plaza Downtown Indianapolis.
Board of Directors Keynote Speakers:
Buddy Hughes: NAHB Second Vice Chairman
A Lexington, N.C.-based home builder and developer with more than 45 years of experience in the home building industry, is NAHB’s 2023 Second Vice Chairman of the Board. Buddy Hughes opened his own general contracting business, Hughes Construction, in 1984 specializing in home building and light commercial construction. Hughes has been an active participant in the NAHB leadership structure at the local, state and national level and currently serves as a life delegate of the NAHB Leadership Council.
Todd Huston: Indiana Speaker of the House
Speaker of the House, Todd Huston was first elected in 2012 as state representative for the constituents of House District 37. Huston was first selected by House members to serve as Indiana House Speaker in 2020 and he currently leads the 100-member chamber, including the 70-member Republican supermajority. Huston’s involvement has established a plethora of history changing bills. He led the creation of the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) in 2021, played a key role in helping pass the state’s two-year, $37 billion state budget, and spearheaded the passage of a $1 billion tax-relief package to support hardworking Hoosiers – the largest tax cut in state history.
Crowne Plaza:
Crowne Plaza is a historic hotel offering over 55,000 sq. ft. of event space for up to 2,500 people. The Grand Hall Ballroom features stunning wheel windows and a barrel ceiling of original stained glass. Walk back in time as you encounter remnants of WWI, such as the wheel windows that were blacked out to disguise them during war, that still appear grey-tinted today. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the hotel features a convenient downtown location offering upscale modern amenities. The hotel is situated in the heart of Indianapolis' shopping, dining and entertainment district and is connected to the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium.
Parking Information:
Valet service is available at the hotel through an agreement with a parking service, rates are $35 for day parking and $47 for overnight guest. Additional parking is available at the Pan Am Plaza Garage, The Moon Garage, World of Wonders Garage.
