The uptick in new home construction and remodeling coupled with turnover in local inspectors can make residential code compliance a challenge. Now is a great time for a refresher on the significant changes in the 2020 Indiana Residential Code, which became effective on December 26, 2019 and governs the construction of one-and two-family dwellings and townhouses. The Indiana Builders Association is offering a two-part training session on the residential code, and each session will include a Q&A with industry experts: Matthew Brown with APA - The Engineered Wood Association; Nathan Kleist with Energy Diagnostics, Inc, and Lynn Madden with Hallmark Homes.
Schedule:
Session 1 (9 am - noon): Structural and energy conservation provisions
Lunch (noon - 1 pm)
Session 2 (1 pm - 4 pm): Mechanical, fuel gas, plumbing and electrical requirements
